Like with any filling, our dentist will start by numbing your tooth with a local anesthetic. Once fully numbed, we will remove any decayed tooth structure with a dental drill. With the cavity gone, steps toward restoration can now be taken.
Our dentist will then introduce the composite resin in layers. As each layer is applied, it will be light cured, or hardened, with a special dental-grade light device. With the material in place, our dentist will mold the resin so that it properly conforms to your tooth.
Please be aware that if the cavity in question is deemed too large for a filling, we will instead suggest a dental crown to repair the tooth.
